Detailed Note on Regulations of the course and Dissertation

1.

Intake

:

Since this is a professional course, the number of students taken in an academic year.as per Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University Sanction Strength

2.

Entry Requirement

:

A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate at the MSW level is required to apply for the course.

3.

Duration

:

One academic year consisting of 180 teaching days.

4.

Attendance:

:

A minimum attendance of 75% shall be necessary for taking the respective examination.

5.

Dissertation

:

5(1)     Before a candidate is allowed to undertake the work of dissertation,  the  title  of the  dissertation  should  be approved by the Research and Recognition Committee of the Board of R.T.M.  Nagpur University as early as possible but not later than three months of admission.

5(2)     Once the title for dissertation is approved, the candidate will not be allowed to change the title.

5(3)The subject of the dissertation must be related with the broad areas of social work.

5(4)     The dissertation shall be guided by the recognized Post-Graduate teachers of R.T.M. Nagpur University under Section 36(A) 3 (iv) of Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994, belonging to Core Domain, Supportive Domain, Interdisciplinary Domain and Elective Domain of Social Work Education as worked out by University Grants Commission.

5(5)Two copies of the bound dissertation together with ore certificate from the research guide must reach the office of the Controller of Examinations before two months if the commencement of the final examination.

5(6)The dissertation shall be separately assessed by external examiners exclusively appointed for this. purpose by R.T.M. Nagpur University and they shall submit the marks to the University within 24 Hours after the viva-voce examination is over. Both the external examiners shall award marks out of 50 (Fifty) and the total of the two shall constitute the final marks obtained by the student in dissertation.

5(7)The student shall furnish declaration that the research work done by him is original in nature and has not been submitted for any other examination.

5(8)The research guide shall furnish the certificate to the effect that the research work was executed under his supervision and that is ready for university examination.,

5(9)Each dissertation shall carry the teaching workload of one clock hour per week.

5(10)   The recognized Post-Graduate teacher shall supervise not more than five research students (i.e. MSW & M. Phil, taken together) in an academic year.

5(11)A student unsuccessful in dissertation shall be required to repeat the process by changing his topic of research and seeking admission in the college for this purpose only. He shall be required to appear in Dissertation only in subsequent examination of R.T.M. Nagpur University and he shall be treated as regular student of the college.
